Hi there,

I leaned on my laptop without realising. When I turn it on I've now got a white strip of lines and I can't see my desktop or my windows start icon/ button

The lines take up about a 2cms in width - annoying as I have to keep minimising the page to read it fully

To rectify would this be something as simple as replacing the screen?

- Or is there some underlying damage I've caused?

Help/ suggestions is much appreciated

VPCEA1S1E - Model

thanks!

Shelly

    Hi Shelly,

It's impossible to tell whether a screen replacement will solve the problem, but a new screen will cost approx. £50 plus fitting.

You can either Google VPCEA1S1E screen replacement or contact one of the Sony repair partners

It would be also a good idea to add a few more pounds to that 50 to buy a new one if you wish to replace the whole laptop.

    Hi Shelly,

I should have suggested plugging in an external monitor to test whether it is just screen damage.
