BDV-E380 HDMI pass through in standby?

Hi

I am considering getting a BDV-E380 system, and wondered if an existing user could answer a question for me please?

I have SkyHD and a PS3, so my plan would be to connect SkyHD to HDMI1 (together with an optical cable) and the PS3 to HDMI2.

However, would this mean that the E380 has to be switched ON to watch Sky or use the PS3, or is the HDMI signal "passed through" to the TV via HDMI out even in standby mode. (and the TV speakers then used)

I could not find if this was supported in the manual hence my question ..

    I had the same query, before purchase, sony did reply, as follows:-

    "No pass through when in standy-By"  I have now purchased, and can confirm that NO pass through is correct.

     

    But the unit is very good, I have used an Auto switching external HDMI switch to get over my problem though.

    Must say I did not think about an external HDMI switch..

    I assume you connect all devices to the switch right?

    and audio connections to BDV-e380 are then via Optical / Coax ?
