I'm using this with the Sony SS-HW1 speakers - or, for late at night, the Sony MDR-Z7 headphones - and generally playing nothing less than 44.1 flacs or, more often than not, 24bit recordings. Paired with the speakers, high resolution recordings are simply breath-taking - often sounding almost "surround sound" due to the wide field and upward firing super tweeters. I previously used the headphones with a Sony UDA-1 or Sony PHA-3 - neither of which felt as if they were driving the cans hard enough. This amp was a revelation - easily driving them and giving a full - bodied bass response. Ultimately you get what you pay for - in order to get the best from this amp you'll need high quality audio (preferably via network) going in and high resolution speakers / headphones to achieve audio heaven - and finally hear what high resolution audio is all about! Trust me, it's worth it.

Je suis très satisfait : - des nombreuses entrées dont le bluetooth qui à travers l'application SongPal est très pratique ; - des sorties enceintes pour alimenter mon séjour et lignes pour alimenter la cuisine et la véranda MAIS - je ne suis pas parvenu à la connecter en WiFi, ne voit pas mon réseau, bien que mes équipements (téléphone, tablette et PC portable ne connecte parfaitement), c'est-à-dire je rencontre un problème similaire à Yves57 (avis du 19/09/2016) qui ne semble pas intéresser l'équipe Sony. - je regrette l'absence d'une commande balance pour la sortie enceintes

Bis auf die WLAN Einrichtung ging die Erstinbetriebnahme recht einfach von statten. Die Bedienung uber die Songpal-App ist sehr durchdacht. Tune-In und Spotify sind an Bord. Die Verarbeitung ist extrem wertig. Ich habe nichts vergleichbares am Markt gefunden. In der naechsten Generation waere ein vollfunktionales Display am Geraet selbst wuenschenswert so wie beim HAP-S1. Auch bei der Fernbedienung gibt es noch Potential nach oben.

J'ai changé ma cmt-g2nip pour cet ampli. Raccordé a des enceintes BOWERS & WILKINS 685 S2 Après plus d'un mois d'utilisation, mon avis. NÉGATIF: - - - Le raccordement au réseau WiFi fut pour ma part une vraie calamité, pourtant je ne suis pas un newbie: après une première connexion à la chaîne par NFC (Xperia Z5) sans problème et connexion Bluetooth, il faut, par le biais de l'appli Songpal, rentrer le nom et le mot de passe du réseau WiFi et là c'est le drame, il faut patienter 10min à chaque fois pour voir échouer la connexion. Aucune autre issue que de faire la procédure de reset décrite dans le mode d'emploi (en perdant au passage les réglages et stations mémorisées) et utiliser un Pc pour se connecter à la chaîne et lui rentrer les paramètres ssid et mot de passe. Attention, le faire en moins de 2 minutes sinon elle n'émet plus et on peut recommencer. Bref très laborieux et aujourd'hui pour X raisons je dois recommencer cette procédure. - - La chaîne ne reçoit pas le signal infrarouge de la télécommande à plus de 2,5m ce qui est assez embêtant, il faut souvent tendre le bras. Le problème ne vient pas de la télécommande mais de la cellule réceptrice sur l'ampli peinte en grise. - - L'afficheur est peu lisible à plus de 2m, n'affiche pas l'heure en mode veille, chose que faisait la cmt-g2nip et n'affiche aucun titre de ce qui est lu par Spotify ou Bluetooth, il faut appuyer sur display pour le voir et ça ne reste affiché que 5 secondes. Dommage. - La navigation dans les menus n'est vraiment pas très pratique sur la chaîne ou par la télécommande, il faut vraiment se servir de l'appli Songpal pour trouver un confort d'utilisation. Attention donc car sans tablette ou smartphone ça ne sera pas agréable. POSITIFS : + + + Je suis vraiment content du son de cette chaîne, la cmt-g2nip était déjà une très bonne chaîne audiophile mais là c'est vraiment parfait. Je suis enchanté par les basses très très profondes et les aigus très clairs. Je craignais le mariage avec les B&W avec un manque de puissance de l'ampli car ampli 2x50 W en 4 ohms pour enceintes en 8 ohms et finalement la puissance est bien suffisante, sonorise sans problème un séjour de 40m2, manque peut être un peu de médiums. +++ La finition est magnifique, le logo Sony chromé et incrusté, le tout usiné dans un bloc d'alu, pas de défauts de fabrication. Un très bel objet, très classe. Chapeau. Bref hormis quelques malheureux désagréments ou fonctions mal pensées, le son et la qualité Sony sont au rendez-vous et c'est bien l'essentiel.

I recently bought the Sony MAP S-1 to replace an 18 yr-old mini separates system. I wanted to retain a DAB tuner, CD player and external input for my turntable but also wifi and Bluetooth streaming connections for digital sources. The features, specifications and aesthetics of the MAP S-1 made it the right choice. My only complaints are lack of a balance control and I'd like to see extra features on the main unit such as dedicated bass and treble controls. The remote control is not overly intuitive due to its reasonably minimalist design.

I bought this unit because od its HiRes facility.However I have been disappointed for two reasons:- 1.This unit is not a direct NAS network receiver as other makes are. Wifi Network media is ONLY available via the SONGPAL app on OS & Android tables & phones. (This was never made clear on purchace). 2.The music sound via SONGPAL is distorted (except reception via Spotify) (Playing network media via another receiver and inputing through INLINE is fine) SONGPAL reception appears to be the problem

Got this a couple of weeks ago and I'm still learning about all the features on it. Excellent sound from everything i play on their including the CD. Only thing i would say it needs updating on , is that there appears to be no information on the dab radio. No scrolling text letting yo know whats playing. Im sure if Sony put there mind to it they can maybe update this . Because of this I'm docking it 1 star, which is a shame.

The MAP S-1 is an fantastic device. We have ours paired with Bowers and Wilkins CM1 speakers and the sound quality is excellent. It is very easy to switch between different media sources e.g. the NAS drive on which we now have all our music stored, Spotify, DAB and internet radio etc. The Sound Play App which can control the device from a smart phone or iPad is also very good and easy to use.

The sound quality using Airplay is excellent. I had to take measures to ensure the unit was receiving a strong wifi signal and turn off Bluetooth to support Airplay. Using an i pod with all my music purchased from i tunes. SongPal is a neat control app. Only one negative- Unit can only support one pair of speakers.

Very happy with this little stereo lots of great features all in a little cool looking aluminium box. It comes with a minimalist remote control which is a good idea but if your using a programmable remote some of the features hidden in the menus are available directly (using code for different sony remotes that still work). If you listen to DSD or ALAC/FLAC 192 music on it you can really notice the difference over normal music tracks. It would be perfect if more of the music i like was available in the hi-res formats but you can't blame Sony for that.
